Will my tresses require maintenance?
Yes, proper maintenance is essential for longevity. Treat the hair as you would your natural hair, using high-quality shampoos and conditioners. Regular shampooing and conditioning are crucial to keeping the hair soft, smooth, and tangle-free. To avoid excessive oil build-up, we recommend deep conditioning at least once a week or biweekly.
How long should my hair last?
With proper care, your hair extensions can last a lifetime. There is no expiration date on the quality of our hair. However, curly textures require more maintenance, and excessive heat or coloring may reduce the lifespan of your extensions.
Will my hair shed?
Slight shedding is normal with any hair extensions. Hair that has been manufactured and sewn onto a weft may experience minor shedding. Once the weft is cut, shedding may increase, as the hair is more prone to slide off. To minimize shedding, we recommend using a weft sealer.

How do I care for my hair extensions?
To ensure the longevity and beauty of your YummiTresses extensions, treat them as you would your natural hair—with care, attention, and quality products. Always use a wide-tooth comb to gently detangle your hair, especially for Sea Wavy and Straight textures, starting from the ends and working your way up to the weft to prevent shedding and minimize breakage.
For our Ariel Curl texture, deep conditioning is key. The longer you allow your bundles to deep condition, the silkier, softer, and more manageable they become. After thoroughly rinsing out the conditioner, allow your bundles to air dry. Use a wide-tooth comb or Denman brush to detangle, again starting from the ends up to the weft.
Before applying any heat, always use a heat protectant to shield the hair and preserve its natural luster. To define and maintain curls, we recommend using a spray bottle with water and applying your favorite foaming mousse or curl activator. Style using your fingers or a wide-tooth comb to enhance curl pattern without causing frizz.
To preserve your style overnight, braid your hair into sections and wrap it with a silk or satin scarf to minimize friction and prevent tangling while you sleep.
